A Must Remember

So . . . I have these freckles on the side of my face. (Stick with me here, its worth the read) Explanation: They aren't technically a birth mark because they weren't there when I was born, my parents don't remember exactly when they showed up. I was still pretty young though, like 4 or 5 maybe? I've had them checked out, and they aren't dangerous or anything. To be honest, I totally forget that I have them because I almost never see them on myself. Looking in the mirror, I don't see them. Its just the occasional side photo that usually surprises me, and I think "Oh weird, I forgot I had those, they look kind of funny." But I will say, I get people that stop me all the time telling me I have something on my face. Its funny because of the variety of things people think it is. So far I have had people tell me: chocolate, sand, dirt, mascara, and I have had multiple people ask me if it is one of those temporary tattoos partly rubbed off. In case you wanted to see me REALLY up close. . . I'm sorry, but I have to do this for the purpose of this hilarious story.
Crew woke up really early the other day. I was too tired to do anything so I turned on Sesame street and we cuddled on the couch. I asked him if he would give me a kiss on the cheek. He said yes, and gave me a sweet kiss. Then he looked at me with a puzzled look and said, "Where is my ice cream cone?" I was totally confused. Then he held my face in his hands and turned my head so he could see my freckles. He just looked at it and said "Num num num" and started pretend eating my "ice cream cone."

It totally took me by surprise because we have NEVER talked about my freckles before. He has never pointed it out, and so until now I thought he hadn't even noticed it. And I certainly have never had anyone tell me it looks like an ice cream cone. . . or try to eat my face. How could I possibly not blog this experience?

In the words of a 2 year old. . .

Crew got this construction truck that he has been ATTACHED to. . . Jane crawled over and was grabbing at it and trying to touch it. Then I hear him say, "No no Jane, this is not a toy. This is my bob the builder tractor. This is not a toy." And later as she is crawling into the pantry. . . "No no Jane, this is not a place to play."
And on an unrelated note, we have all been wearing our shades a lot the past few days.
