Utah

Stop #1 on our Summer tour? Utah! We spent lots and lots of time with family. LOVED IT. Can't wait to go back in December. I tried really hard to be good at taking pictures of everyone, and especially Crew with his cousins. I didn't get EVERYONE, but I tried. Ryan was in heaven while we were there. He got to go mountain biking with all his brothers, fishing, and he golfed probably more than he ever has in his life. We went to the splash park, the best fabric stores ever, my mother in law taught me how to crochet, we saw old friends. . . and I even saw two movies in one day (Breaking Dawn and Toy Story 3). AND we had Cafe Rio several times including on the way to the airport as we left.

There were 2 of these pictures to choose from. Ryan had his eyes shut in one, and I am sticking out my tongue in the other. I do the blog, so Ryan looses out on this one :)
We enjoyed an afternoon with Ryan's grandparents.
We went to dinner with Jakey Poo, aunt Joyce, and uncle Gary. We miss you guys!Marissa and Jonny! The older cousins and Kristen.
Crew and Isaac.Crew and Grandpa. Crew has a dirty face.Maryann and sweet Sadie. Cox's got me hooked on Ticket to Ride. I've played before, but we had so much fun playing late-nights with them. The Cox Crew.
Jonah. Crew loved playing with Jonah.Uncle Jord.Kristen was a big time help.Crew and Lilah - she'll have to represent the Hadley crew. Didn't get many pictures with them :(We got to see Summer and Oliver! One of my dear old roomies from BYU. Oliver is SO cute. Don't be deceived, Oliver is closer to the camera, and right now Crew is taller than little Ollie. (and 6 months older I must add). I had to publicly document the moment because its probably the last time he'll be taller than Oliver for the rest of his life :) Summer, you looked so great, thanks for making time for us!

We've been busy. . .

Well, as the summer officially comes to a close and Ryan starts school on Monday :( I am finally sitting down to document our summer. In a just a few words . . . it was awesome. This being Ryan's last summer that he could have free of school/work, we decided to go the dangerous, more expensive, and totally worth it route: visit each of our families for 2 weeks +, and enjoy all the time together we could. In the end, we were pleased with our decision. We only wish we would have booked the tickets to stay even longer. We had a blast, and loved seeing everyone. I've been procrastinating blogging big time for a couple of reasons. 1) There is way to catch up on, and WAY too many summer pictures taken to choose from and 2) I've been crafting/sewing/reading and doing lots of little projects lately that have been much more fun than blogging. But, here I go. . . slowly but surely, I'll catch us up to speed.

A GIRL

This is Ryan. Just wanted to let everyone know, who hasn't seen our facebook pages, that Lauren is pregnant again and we're having a girl. We are so excited. We both wanted a girl so bad we felt guilty. Of course we would have been happy with a boy too, but we were thrilled to see that it is a girl.

Beach Day

We took a trip to the beach with some friends one day, and it turned out to be lots of fun. This time we tried out the north shore which turned out to be a much better beach for babies. Much of it was rocky, but we found this nice sandy part. And the waves were small and perfect for the kids to play in. Last time we went to the beach with big waves Crew was so scared he didn't want anything to do with it. But this time he ran and splashed all over the place. Which is why I didn't get any good pictures, he was too preoccupied with everthing else.

A Dad in our Fam

My friend Lori had the idea to make these onesies for "the Dad's" of our kids for Father's Day. It was a fun activity, and cute for Crew to wear on Father's Day. Unfortunately, the onesie has sort of ruffly sleeves (he normally wears it underneath his other clothes), so it looked slightly feminine. And I finally got a picture right before bathtime so it was a little dirty by then. BUT, on the positive side, you can see Crew's two little teeth in that grin. His only two so far!
Its not very often that Crew falls asleep on one of us. . . Ryan was just enjoying the cuddling time while he could. And lastly, Ryan was injured in a freak "construction" accident the other day. He was hit by a flying piece of wood right in the eye. Luckily the bleeding stopped so he didn't need stitches, they just glued it back together. We were glad it didn't actually hit is eyeball, cause that could have been bad. This is a couple days after the fact . . . it was definitely more purple the first 2 days. And really, the picture doesn't do it justice. . . its pretty ugly. But it will give everyone something to look at during his talk in church tomorrow!

Bronx Zoo

On the Saturday after Crew's birthday we went to the Bronx Zoo with some friends from church to celebrate. We had a really great time! We started out with the baboons, and headed over to the polar bears. I wasn't sure if Crew would really pay attention and look for the animals, but I thought he might. His favorite book is the one with pictures of real animals, not cartoons. And as I mentioned, he loves dogs, and always points out the birds. He really liked it so that made it fun. Some of what we saw at the zoo: tigers, lots of monkeys, giraffes, brown bears play fighting, lots of birds, buffalo, deer, alligators, and fish. Kim brought some birthday brownies and candles for the kids to blow out. Ella is Crew's friend who turned 2 on the same day that Crew turned 1. And Henry is Ella's boyfriend. And honestly, Crew doesn't mind being the third wheel :)
Sweet Ella. She says the cutest things, so I always have one ear tuned in to try to hear what she is saying. Some of these pictures are courtesy of Kim Hughes Photography, Inc which I stole from her facebook. I really loved this one she took of Crew. Oh, the cheeks, and the eyes.
We gave the kids a moment to play in the grass. It was so funny how they were all playing with this sign.
Henry and Ella were walking and holding hands, and it was really cute. And then they invited Crew to join in. Henry has a good grip, because they walked like this for a little ways before breaking up.
We had a really fun time at the zoo. I love it when we actually plan and do something on a Saturday. Its too easy to just get stuff done around the house, and then have the day be practically over.
